Maintenance & Support
Launch is the start of the software lifecycle, not the end
Software decays while you are not looking. Dependencies acquire vulnerabilities, providers deprecate APIs, certificates expire and traffic patterns change. None of it announces itself until something breaks, usually at the worst time.
What neglect actually looks like
The failure is rarely dramatic at first. It is a year of skipped upgrades that turns a routine patch into a migration project, or an outage nobody noticed until a customer said so. Both are far more expensive than the maintenance that would have prevented them.
- Dependencies frozen at launch versions with known vulnerabilities
- Outages discovered by customers rather than by alerting
- Backups configured once and never tested against a real restore
- The only person who understood the deployment has left
What you get
Monitoring that pages a human
Uptime, error rates and the handful of business metrics that indicate something is wrong even when the servers claim to be healthy.
Security patching on a schedule
Dependency and platform updates applied regularly, so upgrades stay routine instead of compounding into a migration.
Tested backups
A backup nobody has restored is a hypothesis. We test restores, because the day you need one is a bad day to find out.
Documented handover
Runbooks and architecture notes kept current, so continuity does not depend on any single person remembering how it works.

What we build it with
Common questions
Do you maintain software you did not build?
Yes, after an assessment. We need to understand what is there before we can commit to keeping it running, so these engagements usually start with a short review.
What response times do you offer?
Response targets are set per engagement against the severity of the issue and what the system does. A payment platform and an internal tool do not warrant the same commitment or the same cost.
Is maintenance an upsell on a build?
No. Deployment and initial support are part of our build process rather than an add-on. Maintenance is for the continuing work after that, and plenty of clients never need it.
Does this include new features?
Maintenance covers keeping the system healthy: patching, upgrades, monitoring and fixes. Substantial new functionality is scoped as its own piece of work so it does not quietly crowd out the upkeep.
